Boy, those March photos bring back memories! Winter would just not go away and we got pretty sick of it by May. The ice usually went off of the lake by May 24. My dad, Jim Johnson, used to organize a draw and people would bet on what day and time the ice would go out. He put a clock on a float on the lake so that the clock would stop when it sank and reveal the time the ice went out.
